KCIC Culture

5/12/2026 By Hannah Lewis

KCIC’s Diversity & Inclusion team recently conducted a company-wide survey to assess our progress towards our organization goals. With participation from over half the firm, the results provide a meaningful snapshot of where we stand today and where we are headed.

The feedback was both encouraging and energizing:

  • 100% of respondents indicated that they understand the initiatives of the Diversity and Inclusion team.
  • 100% believe the Diversity and Inclusion Team is successful in accomplishing their goals.
  • 98% feel included as an individual at KCIC.
  • 100% feel valued professionally at KCIC.
  • 95% feel valued personally at KCIC.
  • And 100% believe that KCIC values people from diverse backgrounds.

These results are striking not only for their strength, but also for what they represent. Since the formation of the Diversity and Inclusion team in 2020, we have been deliberate in our efforts, including but not limited to: building awareness, creating space for dialogue, and embedding inclusion into the fabric of our culture. The survey results suggest that those efforts are resonating with not only our team, but with the entire firm.

That said, we view this not as a finish line, but as a checkpoint. Our focus for the coming year is on expanding both the reach and depth of our work. We plan to host more D&I-focused social events, which will create opportunities for connection, celebration, and shared learning across the firm. We will continue our speaking engagements, both internally and externally, building on the momentum of past panels and discussions. We also aim to broaden the range of topics we explore, ensuring that our conversations remain thoughtful, relevant, and inclusive of a wide array of perspectives and experiences.

As with any meaningful initiative, progress requires intention. The results of this survey affirm that we have come a long way in a relatively short time. Just as importantly, they reinforce that our culture is one where people feel seen, valued, and included. We are proud of that foundation, and excited about what comes next.
